Southern Night Pop-Up Event: Boo Coo Roux
The Cajun and Creole food truck Boo Coo Roux is joining forces with Bourbon on Division for a Southern Night Pop-Up on Wednesday, July 18. The one-night-only event will feature both fan favorites and new recipes from Boo Coo Roux, and drinks and entertainment from Bourbon on Division. The pop-up will take place on July 18, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Bourbon on Division, located at 2050 W. Division in Chicago’s Wicker Park.
“We are excited to team up with Boo Coo Roux for a fun, southern-inspired night,” said Jun Lin, owner, Bourbon on Division. “Boo Coo Roux has some of the best Cajun food in Chicago and our team is whipping up some great complimentary drinks. It’s going to be a fun night of food, drinks, and bluegrass.”
Bourbon on Division is a refined space to enjoy live music and events, sample some the finest whiskeys on the planet, and devour authentic barbecue and smoked meats. The Bourbon Upstairs is housed above the restaurant and bar and features live performances by indie bands, hip hop artists, and comedians. Bourbon on Division is open until 4:00 a.m. nightly serving late night BBQ while the house DJ spins the best music.
“What better way to break up summer than a night of southern fun at Bourbon on Division,” said Matt Satow, chef and co-owner of Boo Coo Roux. “I’ve worked up an amazing menu with everything from cheesy grits and BBQ shrimp to gumbo and blackened pork chops and beans. Guests will enjoy the full southern experience right in Wicker Park.”
Boo Coo Roux is a Cajun and Creole food truck serving the Chicagoland area led by Chef Matt Satow. Satow previously cooked at Sixteen and The Bristol. The Boo Coo Roux team is committed to from-scratch cooking. Their menu items are made from scratch stocks, hand-made sausages, and fresh ingredients. They also prioritize the highest quality ingredients for the best meal they can serve their customers.
Normally, you can find the food truck on the streets in downtown Chicago with a menu that changes every week but they are parking the truck for an evening of southern fun at Bourbon on Division. The menu will feature three menu options for both appetizer and entrée courses, and two drink options for each event attendee.
Bourbon on Division will also host a concert with bluegrass band FY5 in their event space, The Bourbon Upstairs. Hailing from Colorado, FY5 proudly swim in the deep currents of American music, playing new songs, well-informed of country and bluegrass traditions, but not bound to them. The concert begins at 8:00 p.m.
