The Secret Life

The Secret Life is the project of Spanish singer songwriter Daniel Marti. He has been fighting with songs for pure satisfaction since 2009. After a long and stressful VISA process, Daniel and his wife Savannah moved to the unknown North. Since the big move in 2016, The Secret Life has been continuously evolving, trying to truly portray the sounds that Daniel has in his head. A mix of bossa nova, tango, jazz, and reckless experimentation is to be expected.

Admiral Fox is a singer-songwriter from Philadelphia, currently operating in Minneapolis. His music ranges from folk rock to bedroom pop to synth-pop, and he likes to get a little noisy and experimental too. His latest album Winter in Limbo is available everywhere.

Daniel Johannes was 22 years old when he left Minnesota and stood alone on a landing strip in Lima with a large bag and no plans to return. For the next six years he traveled, making his way through South America, the Virgin Islands, India and Nepal. One day he found himself riding on the back of a speeding motorcycle through Delhi with two other passengers, grazing car fenders, dodging cows and brawling baboons just to buy a sitar. The sitar was waiting for him when he got home. Back in Minnesota he set out to find musicians who could help him tell his tales of the road. The band Johannes weaves these intricate storylines with piano, guitars, and a deconstructed drum set. The anxiety and urgency of the lyrics are often juxtaposed with slow and sedated chord progressions illustrating the fickle balance between calm and chaos in many latitudes. Their forthcoming release “North or South” examines the search for contentment in the perfect place with the perfect person, and the misgivings that can follow once it seems to have been found.
